We are delighted to have been chosen to present two posters at this year’s ACR conference in Washington on November 11-16. The posters, which are entitled, ‘A Real World View of Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients Treated with Advanced Therapies’ and ‘Patient Adherence with Biologic Therapy in RA’ are authored by Research Director Laurent Chanroux.
Using patient data taken from our Therapy Watch and Living With surveys conducted among panel of rheumatologists and RA patients, Laurent Chanroux sought to better understand differences between patients treated with anti-TNF therapy, non-TNF biologics and novel small molecules such as Xeljanz (Tofacitinib)and assess patient reported compliance with biologic therapy overall.
Data sample and methodology
A Real World View of Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients Treated with Advanced Therapies
We used data collected as part of our Therapy Watch online treatment survey conducted among a panel of rheumatologists between June 2014 and January 2016 in the USA. We reviewed and analysed a total of 4,044 patient forms reported by 206 physicians. Physicians were sampled to provide a mix of practice types and regions that would be representative of the universe of treaters.
Patient Adherence with Biologic Therapy in Rheumatoid Arthritis
We used data collected as part of an online patient survey conducted among 500 Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) patients in December 2015 in 5 EU countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and UK). We focused our research on 197 patients treated with a biologic, 111 of which missed a dose in treatment within the previous 6 months.
