Sample considerations
  • All patients were required to be diagnosed with AS (ankylosing spondylitis) by a doctor
  • Patients were categorized as either receiving advanced treatment (e.g. biologics, biosimilars) or non-advanced treatment (e.g. csDMARDs, NSAIDs)
  • Quotas were set to recruit specific numbers of patients on different therapy categories
  • Gender quota: female 53%, male 48%
  • Age quota: 18-29 yrs. 5%, 30-64 yrs. 85%, 65+ yrs. 10%
