PMRC Europe round-up 2018

Earlier this month Director Paula Coyle and Associate Director An-hwa Lee attended the European Pharmaceutical Market Research Conference in Basel, Switzerland.

The event was well-received thanks to an agenda that included many thought-provoking sessions that addressed key industry issues and allowed attendees to enhance their knowledge. On day one of the conference An-hwa presented the paper ‘How to capture rare disease ‘moments-of-truth’ using online communities’ which demonstrated how, with careful set-up and management, online communities can be excellent methods for attaining an in-depth, meaningful understanding of patients with rare diseases. The session was well attended and received positive feedback from delegates.

Earlier this month, Directors Tom Nolte and Melinda Shorr attended the Pharmaceutical Market Research Conference in Newark, New Jersey, they presented the paper, ‘Portfolio Analysis: Optimizing Communication Approaches for Multiple Assets in a Category’. In their presentation they discussed how communications can be optimized in a portfolio, such as when multiple agents are being presented during the same rep detail or as a part of a digital strategy in a given category.

How insights about living with asthma were used to segment patients and raise awareness across Asia

Our client wanted to explore attitudes to living with asthma across Asia amongst both patients and physicians. They also wanted to segment patients in order to understand the differences in attitudes and determine what support was needed across the region.

As well as answering the client’s objectives, this study needed to be fit for scientific publication and for use at international asthma congresses.

The Research Partnership attends the PMRC conference 2012

On 7-8 February 2012, The Research Partnership attended and exhibited at the Pharma Market Research Conference in Parsipanny, New Jersey.

The conference was very well attended, with around 300 delegates participating over the course of the two days.Unsurprisingly in the current pharma climate, conference topics, including one of the keynote speeches, focused on client-side issues such as career development and career strategy. One of the keynote speeches looked at the issues of soaring R&D spend with diminishing returns on investment, which is a major concern for big pharma presently, with no easy solutions.Our representatives came back with great feedback on the event, commenting “we were very interested in a paper presented by Elizabeth Shaw at Merck, which highlighted the need for researchers to demonstrate they could add value – not just in terms of research costs but by being a strategic partner who is invaluable to the team. This is a service that The Research Partnership has always been committed to delivering with its clients, so we could definitely relate to that message.”In celebration of our 15th anniversary, representatives Harriet Kozak and Sue Marett showcased various innovative new services, notably a new market research app tool which is currently in development.
