Singapore team’s annual volunteer day

Singapore team’s annual volunteer day

This year, volunteers from our Singapore office are collaborating with local charity, Willing Hearts.

Willing Hearts operates a soup kitchen that prepares, cooks and distributes 5,000 meals 365 days a year. Beneficiaries include the elderly, the disabled, low-income families, and migrant workers in Singapore.

On 28th June, volunteers will be starting at the crack of dawn (5am!) as soon as the kitchen doors open, with everyone assigned to various stations throughout the day. The first group will be preparing the ingredients, chopping vegetables and cooking. While the second group will be busy serving the food and packing meal boxes or cleaning and washing pots and pans.

Pei Li Teh, Director of the Singapore office comments, “We are delighted to be able to support such a worthy cause and I am extremely proud of our employees for devoting their time and effort, and helping to make a difference in people’s lives.”

Willing Hearts started in 2005 as a non-affiliated charity; it is wholly run by volunteers, apart from a handful of staff. Their mission is to provide daily meals and other support services to the underprivileged, the needy, and other marginalised members in Singapore, and to assist and guide them towards rehabilitating and reinstating themselves as useful members of our society.

We are proud of our Singapore employees taking part and supporting this extremely worthy cause. Find out more about Willing Hearts here
