New survey reveals significant differences between HCV patients

New research carried out by the Research Partnership amongst patients who have been diagnosed and are living with hepatitis C (HCV) reveals significant differences between patients in China and those in the US.

The survey reveals that two thirds (66%) of patients in China who have not yet started treatment said they were delaying because their symptoms were "too mild". This suggests that patients in China are waiting until their disease worsens or becomes symptomatic before being treated, a concerning trend given the progressive nature of HCV. Meanwhile, in the US, the reasons for not being treated are more diverse: twenty-nine percent of patients that are putting off treatment are waiting until they have new treatments available to them, by which they could be referring to a new type of drug called Protease Inhibitors, which offer greater efficacy. A further nineteen percent are putting off treatment because they are concerned about having to take injections.We can reveal some key findings from the results of a study of over 600 patients diagnosed with HCV in the USA and China. Research Partnership announces a number of new hires

Research Partnership has made a number of new appointments, bolstering its international staff resources in response to project demands.

In the UK Vicky McLellan joins the quantitative team as an Associate Director, led by Karen Swords, Director. Vicky has over 12 years of experience in healthcare market research and has particular expertise in quantitative research techniques. Anna Spivack has also joined the quantitative team as a Research Executive. Anna has prior experience in the financial and public sectors.Katie Watts and Anna March Garcia have both joined the company as Research Executives.  Katie was previously employed by GfK NOP and Anna worked in Spain for Synovate. Jekamohan Vicneswararajah (known as Mohan) has joined the syndicated market-tracking team, RP Therapy Watch, as a Research Executive, having come from Opinion Health. Harrison Gaiger has joined as Marketing Executive. Harrison has been working for an online news provider and brings with him a lot of knowledge of social media and digital marketing techniques. In addition, the UK office has recruited 10 new graduates and the US office has appointed 3 new graduates for the 2012 intake.
