Research Partnership launches new patient Living with Psoriasis 2017 (EU) report
Living with Psoriasis is a study conducted amongst 615 patients in Europe. The report will consist of 30-minute online interviews with 600 patients and 15 qualitative interviews. It can be purchased as either a 5EU report (sample of 500 patients) or as a 7EU report (sample of 600 patients with the additional countries of Belgium and the Netherlands). It will be available to purchase in December 2017.
The report is intended to help pharmaceutical companies developing products in this disease area to gain a deeper understanding of how patients come to be diagnosed with Psoriasis and how it impacts their day-to-day lives physically, emotionally and socially. It also explores patient attitudes and perceptions towards treatment and the healthcare professionals managing their condition as well as identifying the types of support patients seek at key stages of their journey.
Around 14 million across Europe and 3% of the world’s population has some form of psoriasis and between 10% and 30% of people with psoriasis also develop Psoriatic arthritis (PsA). With no clear cause or cure, the negative impact of this condition on people’s lives can be immense.
Head of Living with, Mariel Metcalfe commented, “Psoriasis impacts patients not just physically but also in the psychosocial sense. This report will not only examine patients’ symptoms and treatments, it will also explore their perceptions and feelings about their condition and the support they wish to receive at key stages of the patient journey.”
Currently being conducted in the Europe but looking to expand the survey to the US, LATAM and Asia, Living with Psoriasis is just one in a series of reports offering comprehensive insight into the chronic disease patient journey from pre-diagnosis to stabilisation. Living with Non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) (US), Lupus (SLE) (EU & US), Crohn’s (EU & US), Rheumatoid Arthritis (EU & US), Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) (EU) and Ulcerative Colitis (EU and US) reports have recently been published and are available to purchase. Living with Atopic Dermatitis (US) has also been launched and will be available to purchase early December 2017.
