9th July 2009
PBIRG 2009 (The Pharmaceutical Business Intelligence and Research Group) came to a close almost 2 months ago, but the dust has yet to settle on the discussion and learning that went on between some of the greatest minds in the Pharma Market Research industry.
As delegates, we were treated to 3 world-class speakers, Dr. James Canton, Joe Flower and Charlotte Sibley. Not to mention the 14 University Sessions, as well as the 3 In-Depth talks that were given in PBIRG’s Research Excellence Series, including The Research Partnerships own Marc Yates (MD Singapore), who gave his paper on Countering Patient Reluctance in Asia to a full crowd.
The conference touched on the pulse of the pharmaceutical industry by focusing on innovation, a key success factor for big Pharma as well as its agencies, especially in these turbulent times.
Ajit Baid, Managing Director (US Office) commented:
“The use of Innovative approaches and methodologies are critical for today’s market research industry – they enable us to provide deeper insights and ultimately offer more value to our clients.”
Whilst at the conference, Ajit was able to discuss RP Brand Clarity – our statistical approach for removing the Halo Effect, an occurrence that can distort true brand performance. This is a valuable, innovative methodology that will be useful in improving brand research and received considerable interest from delegates.
Mary Assimakopoulos, Founding Director (UK Office), discussed expansion of our real-time market tracking tool Therapy KnowlEdge into Latin America, and additional therapy area offerings including RA, CKD, Crohn’s Disease and Oncology. Having a presence at the conference also gave us the opportunity to discuss new markets that we could potentially expand the product into.
As well as presenting a paper at the conference, Marc Yates met fellow delegates to discuss growth opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region.
The agency fair gave us the opportunity to network with current and prospective clients as well as showcase our latest products and services. Visitors to the stand were invited to enter our prize draw to win a Dell Mini Netbook. Congratulations to Michele Fuller of Alcon Labs, who was the lucky prize winner.
