The Research Partnership exhibited at the second Pharma Market Research Conference in Parsippany New Jersey on 1-2 February this year and Harriet Kozak, Tom Winter and Katrina Johnson represented the company. They and about 200 other delegates from a mixture of global pharmaceutical and research suppliers battled the elements to be there as New Jersey and other parts of the USA experienced a week of spectacularly heavy snowfall.

The keynote presentation “Winning in the new competitive pharma environment” set the tone for the conference, examining the implications for the pharma industry as it moves into a mature phase in the western world. Dr Stan Bernard, President of Bernard Associates, provided a framework for understanding the new competitive landscape and suggested that pharma companies would need to apply more aggressive competitive strategies in order to stay ahead of the game.

Other presentations were of a high quality and addressed a broad range of issues currently affecting market researchers in pharma, from the next generation of consumer marketing tools and their impact on product innovation, to the rise of stakeholder influence on brand performance and ways to apply innovative research techniques in emerging markets.

At our stand, Tom and Katrina found that delegates were keen to venture into unfamiliar territory as they sought our advice on undertaking research in emerging markets, which seems to be increasingly top of mind with clients and prospects. Katrina Johnson, Director was asked to explain more about the benefits of Therapy KnowlEdge, our online market tracking tool and demonstrate its customised graphical outputs on market share and switching patterns.
