PMRG 2011

PMRG

March 27-29, 2011

JW Marriott Desert Ridge, Phoenix AZ

Our representatives at this year's PMRG Conference returned to the office enthusing about the event - the papers, social events and of course the opportunity to catch up with clients. The opening talks given by Governor Howard Dean and Senator Bill Frist on the Obama / US Healthcare reform served to reaffirm that the US healthcare and insurance structure in the US is complex and in a critical phase - the issues must be well understood when undertaking research in this market.

Consultant, Author and Thought Leader Joe Flower also gave a very interesting presentation about emerging markets in the BRIC region and why they are becoming increasingly important to the pharmaceutical market. Our own Marc Yates, Director of the Singapore office, will be giving his presentation on the subject of reimbursement and market access for emergent Asian markets at the EphMRA Annual Conference later this year.

During the day, one of our representatives, Katrina Johnson, Director of Therapy KnowlEdge, attended the PMRG panel discussion covering topical market research themes including the untapped value of secondary research. As a deliverer of global online market tracking data, Kat was pleased to hear that often secondary research, if analysed more deeply, can provide fresh insight without the need for more primary research. We can make more of existing resources – indeed - when our consultants are designing ad hoc research programmes for clients they may turn to the Therapy KnowlEdge team for an up-to-the-minute picture of the marketplace to add value.

Meanwhile at the exhibition, we were represented by the Managing Director of the US Office, Harriet Kozak, her colleague Chris Gaj, Director as well as Katrina Johnson, Director of Therapy KnowlEdge. They greeted a host of visitors to our stand looking for the chance to win one of the prizes available in our grabber machine game. Thank you to everybody who came to talk to us – we hope to see you again next year!
